• Does anyone know the lyrics to my favourite song 'Vie Ta Vie Mon Gars' by Les Gamines (posted here early on). Happy to post it again if you don't have it and think you can help. It's not so much a translation I'm after, just the original words - it hurts to hear a melody that good and not be able to sing along!

  • Same with France Gall's '24/36' - the lyrics are here, but in the song, she doesn't sing 'couleur azur' but something else I can't figure out with my very poor knowledge of French (and it's probably something really basic too). Also in the 'Mais au mois...' bit, there are lyrics that are missing. Again, I'll post the song again if you think you can make them out and shed some light for me!

  • If you have the song 'Patropi' by Maria Sandra, please get in touch - am dying to hear it after reading this.

  • I'm also after the track 'Busy Signal' by the Lollipops - if you have it pleeeeease contact me.

So, here are the lyrics of "Vis Ta Vie Mon Gars". I'm not sure of the end of the sentence after "les vieux, les croulants" (translation: "the old, the collapsing") but all the rest must be correct. I've missed the 24/36 song, can you repost it in the comments?

Much worship to you for that, Gee!
I've popped 24/36 up in the Poupees De Son corner.
Did you enjoy the German Bebe Requin?
      • gee
Ha yes German Bebe Requin is lovely! many thanks for this one!
In 24/36 in fact it sings "couleur myosotis" instead of "couleur azur".
I tried to correct the part of the "Mais au mois d'août" paragraph, but it's very hard to understand some words, even if you're french:
        • Christine
Thank you!!!! I had to look up what myosotis is and am glad to find it's not a disease. :)

Last night I was watching a TV clip of her singing this (well, lipsynching) and I think it would be pretty easy for a French speaker to make out exactly what she's singing in that 'mois d'août' bit from watching her lips. I'll definitely upload it once I figure out how to copy DVDs onto this dinosaur of a computer.

          This seems right:
