I had planned to post 'Haifischbaby' today, as requested by Gee, but I seem to have deleted my mp3 of it. I have just ordered the CD (for the bargain price of 9 Euros, yay) so will share it in the future. But instead today, I've picked the German version of 'Nous Ne Sommes Pas Des Anges', 'Wir Sind Keine Engel', because of how good France's rip-roaring vocals sound attacking the German lyrics in the high parts. '...Engel' is an earlier release in Germany (1966), before she signed to Decca Germany.

Pipe up if you want to hear another German cover - I also have 'Das War Eine Schöne Party' ('Poupee De Cire...' - if you thought something was lost in the translation to 'A Lonely Singing Doll', what do you have to say about 'That Was A Nice Party'?!!) and 'Meine Erste Große Liebe' ('Mes Premières Vraies Vacances').

'I Like Mozart' was the b-side to 'Die Playboys Bei Den Eskimos', released in 1969, and later appeared on her second full-length German recording, released in 1970.

It's awesome that you're posting a France Gall special! Great find you got... these German tracks (and still sound adorable). I wonder if you know which CD collect this song by France Gall called "Zoizoi," (or if it's indeed a France Gall song or not)?

Hi Freda! Glad you're enjoying it. Yes you're right, 'Zoizoi' is a France Gall song (and a fantastic one at that). I have it on a CD compilation of French music called 'Sexopolis', which is now out of print, but keep on eye out for it on ebay. I'll post the song later in the week.

It's misspelled Zoizoi on my CD and in other places, but it's actually Zozoi. Just found out it's also on the compilation French Cuts Vol. 2.

Thank you so much! Yes it is indeed 'Zozoi' (my bad for typo). I have a recent cover version of Zozoi from a Spanish band and they said it was originally a France Gall song. I thought I had pretty much have most of France Gall 60s stuffs...and I never hard of this song, so it has been my quest to look for it ever since (obviously without much success). I knew that you would know about it! This is Wonderful!! :D

Hi freda ! Actually, Zozoi is from 1970 (both the french and the italian version), recorded in Argentina and one of the most "wanted" singles of every France Gall fan. Everytime it appears on eBay, it goes up to at least US-$100 (!) I'm searching it myself, too and it always gets too expensive for me.

Thanks you so much for the info Gerry. That's...crazy...it is indeed a dream item.
